Erawan Waterfall

The Emerald Gem of Kanchanaburi

.

Erawan Waterfall is one of the most famous and beautiful waterfalls in Thailand. Located in Erawan National Park, about 62 km from Kanchanaburi town, it is renowned for its crystal-clear, turquoise-green water created by the surrounding limestone mountains reflecting the sunlight.

What to Expect:

  • 7 Majestic Tiers: The waterfall is divided into 7 distinct tiers, stretching over a hiking distance of 1,500 meters from the bottom to the top.
  • Accessibility: It is very convenient to visit. The trail starts just 500 meters from the park headquarters.
  • Natural Fish Spa: In tiers 1–4, you will find plenty of “Pla Pluang” (Mahseer Barb) swimming in the pools. Swimming with these fish is a unique local experience!
  • Season: The waterfall flows all year round, though water levels may be lower during the dry season (December – April). The water eventually flows into the Khwae Yai River.
