Hindad Hot Spring
(Kuimang Hot Spring)
Thong Pha Phumi District, Kanchanaburi
An Unmissable Natural Wellness Oasis with a Rich Historic Past Nestled inside a lush, shaded forest canopy, Hindad Hot Spring (originally known as Kuimang Hot Spring) is a premier natural wellness destination in Kanchanaburi. This geothermal marvel was unexpectedly discovered during World War II by Imperial Japanese soldiers who were supervising the construction of the infamous Death Railway.
Today, the site is managed under the strict supervision of the Hin Dat Sub-district Administrative Organization (OrBorTor), ensuring exceptional cleanliness and safety. To guarantee top-tier hygiene for the high volume of daily visitors, the pools are completely drained, thoroughly scrubbed, and refilled with fresh mineral water every Monday and Friday starting at 03:00 PM.

The Ultimate “Hot and Cold” Experience
The layout of Hindad Hot Spring offers a unique natural contrast that visitors love:
- The 3 Therapeutic Mineral Pools: The natural hot spring water emerges directly from underground source springs all year round. The surface groundwater temperatures range from 40°C to 100°C, but the managed concrete soaking pools are kept at a perfectly soothing 45°C to 55°C. There are 3 main public pools with varying heat levels: Hot, Medium, and a Shallower Warm Pool designed specifically for children. (Note: There is also a dedicated, private pool designated exclusively for Buddhist monks).
- The Cool Jungle Stream: Running directly parallel to the hot springs—separated only by a concrete walking path—is a refreshing, cool freshwater stream. This natural river flows down from the nearby Pha Tat Waterfall. If you prefer not to soak in the hot mineral water, you can swim in this stream, which features a safe, gentle, and shallow current.
- Traditional Thai Massage: For the ultimate relaxation experience, an on-site pavilion offers professional traditional Thai body massages and soothing foot massages to relieve muscle tension.
Proven Health Benefits of the Mineral Water
Soaking in these natural mineral-rich waters is widely believed to offer numerous therapeutic benefits for the body, including:
- Relieving joint pain, muscle soreness, arthritis, and numbness in the extremities.
- Stimulating blood circulation and dilating blood vessels, which boosts body metabolism.
- Improving oxygen and glucose exchange between capillaries and body tissues.
- Opening up pores to detoxify the skin, leaving your complexion looking refreshed and radiant.
- Deeply relaxing both the mind and body, significantly lowering stress levels.
