Sai Yok Noi Waterfall
Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi

The Ultimate Roadside Oasis and Closest Waterfall to Kanchanaburi Town Nestled within the lush boundaries of Sai Yok National Park, Sai Yok Noi Waterfall (also affectionately known as Khao Phang Waterfall) is one of Kanchanaburi’s most popular and easily accessible natural getaways. Located just 60 kilometers from the town center right alongside the main highway to Thong Pha Phum and Sangkhlaburi, this single-tier limestone cascade requires only a short 100-meter stroll from the roadside, making it a perfect quick stopover for travelers.
The waterfall originates from a natural mountain spring that streams down a series of crumbling limestone cliffs, plunging beautifully from a height of approximately 15 meters into a refreshing, swimmable natural pool below. The name Khao Phang (meaning “collapsed mountain”) reflects its unique geology, formed by a prehistoric collapse of limestone cliffs that created a beautiful, stepped rock terrace at the foothills. The peak season to witness the waterfall in its full, roaring glory is during the rainy season from July to October.

Historical Highlight: The WWII Steam Locomotive
Beyond its natural beauty, Sai Yok Noi Waterfall holds deep historical significance. Right on site, visitors can marvel at an authentic World War II Steam Locomotive, proudly displayed as a historic memorial. This relic honors the prisoners of war and laborers who constructed the infamous Death Railway, which originally cut directly past the front of this waterfall on its way toward Myanmar.
