Sai Yok Yai Waterfall
(Sai Yok National Park)
Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi
The Majestic River-Drop Waterfall Celebrated by Thai Royalty Located inside the lush expanse of Sai Yok National Park, Sai Yok Yai Waterfall is one of Kanchanaburi’s most iconic natural wonders. Historically known as “Namtok Khao Chon” (The Leaping Mountain Waterfall), its name perfectly describes how the powerful stream leaps off a high limestone cliff and plunges directly into the Khwae Noi River below.
The waterfall is exceptionally stunning during the rainy season when the water volume is at its peak. Its timeless beauty was even chronicled by King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) during his royal visit to the province. Today, it remains a favorite oasis for travelers seeking a mix of tropical relaxation and outdoor adventure.
