Wat Tham Suea

( Tiger Cave Temple )
Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi

The Majestic Hilltop Temple, Giant Golden Buddha & Panoramic Rice Field Views Located on a scenic hilltop just before entering Kanchanaburi city, Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) is one of the most stunning and visually iconic temple complexes in Thailand. Renowned for its grand architecture and sweeping rural vistas, this mountaintop sanctuary offers an unforgettable mix of spiritual reverence and breathtaking photography.

The crown jewel of the temple is Luang Pho Chin Prathan Phon, a colossal blessing Buddha statue built in 1973. Standing over 18 meters tall and adorned with shimmering gold mosaics, the giant Buddha sits majestically inside a semi-circular halo under the open sky. Right next to it stands the Ketkaew Maha Prasat Pagoda, a striking 69-meter-high, 9-story octagonal orange tower that dominates the landscape and can be seen from miles away.
